Any recommendations for a Sunday lunch with a large number of small boys in the centre of Bristol without spending a fortune and without feeding them crap?

I agree with Sarah, the food at Friska is fresh and tasty. Sandwiches are generously filled, and made with the tastiest breads. The hot meals are awesome. Plus the welcome you get as a customer is always really friendly.

I’d definately agree and recommend Friska (www.friskafood.com) as my favourite breakfast and lunch spot. Will you be adding a review of this place soon?
The food is always so fresh and tasty, and the idea behind Friska (‘Feel Good Food’) is so appealing that it makes me go back time and time again. You know where all of the food comes from, which is great, and the service is always so friendly unlike many other places!
I’ve never really been a fan of Philpotts, and find these chain places all the same…if you want a pretty standard sandwich or something it will do, but I wouldn’t expect much more!
So happy that Friska is close to my work, so that finally I can get a really delicious lunch which fills me up for the day!

Hi Lynn, Sorry it's taken a while to reply. I'm planning to update this guide for the new year, many of these are a little outdated. I'd recommend Friska as being the closest decent establishment to sit in. Alternatively, most of the others are only a slightly further walk into the centre. Let us know what you think!

What didn’t you like about Maximillions? I’ll have to give Philpotts a go, I’ve often walked past it but never made it inside. I totally agree about Friska though, it’ll most certainly feature once I get round to updating this post, it’s a little outdated now.

I too like to find new veggie places to eat. I can’t say I was impressed with Maximillions though, like Philpotts it seems to attract people because of it’s wide range of carvery style meats. Friska food on Victoria Street is one of my favourites at the moment http://www.friskafood.com check it out!
But for a wide range of veggie options St Nicks Market wins hands down

Boston Tea Party(Park Street) food not as good as it used to, and I’ve been eating there/drinking their coffee (which is still fab) since they opened. Recently had a really duff meal, wrote to Manager to complain but had no response. With so many good places to eat in Bristol, BTP shouldn’t become complacent. Shame.

All Park, my point with veggie food is that there are still few veggie options that aren’t largely made up of cheese. I wish most places just had a good selection of veggie options rather than the odd dish, generally you need to go to specialist veggie/vegan restaurants for decent options. I think I’ve covered all the main options I know in the centre, I hope I’ve yet to discover some. I’ve yet to check Cafe Kino out, slightly too much of a walk.

HaBumhug, nice name. No, I’ve past Maximillions a few times and never made it in then. I’ll check it out though if you rate it that highlight. Pieminister was in my top 10
